The USS. Lexington

We recently went on a class trip to Corpus Christi. We got to stay a night on the lexington which was super fun! As you know the ship was used in World War II so it is old. Since it is older their is a lot of rust under the paint or over the paint. In the room we stayed in their was lots of rust on the floor which was kind of gross definantly don't go bare-foot! If you like luxury this is not a trip for you. The way the ship was built was very sturdy since it has held up all of these years. During the war the rooms were probably less scary than now. In our room we had a hole in the wall... Yes in the wall a hole. We had a lot of fun getting to eat in the mess hall like the sailors and doing the line up. On the ship you are required to have your shirt tucked in and keep your hands out of your pockets. We had to keep our shirts tucked in in respect to the sailors who had died on the ship and those who fought. The punishment for not having your shirt tucked in was push-ups but you had to go in front of everyone. If you like history you will love the tours you can go on all over the ship. If you like to have a little fun and rough it a little this is definantly a fun trip to go on.
